Shadow Box is a type of decoupage art in which
a 3-D artwork is encased in a framed box.
To achieve this 3-D illusion, layers of paper are cut into their according shapes and are glued into different heights. Paper pieces can be varnished to round out objects, and glitter can be added to make water
shimmer, along with other techniques.
I fell in love with this art form and have been doing it for over 15 years. I have also been teaching for the last 13 years.
Not only do I produce these delicate art
pieces, I also make custom mats and frames to best match each piece.
I love what I do and will try just about anything to create new looks and go beyond with this new art form.
My pieces have been exhibited at the
annual Alameda County Fair where I perform demonstrations.
My students have won several awards every year in the US and Japan.
I am fueled by my enthusiasm for this art form. I strive to improve my skills as an artist and teacher. My classes are packed with information and ideas, and I am willing to help everyone unleash their
creative side.
